Description
I am an avid reader, but I also watch a lot of movies. They both can be used to create meaningful community, allowing opportunities to gather together.
This is my easy go-to option for lit community — hosting bookish movie nights. Simple planning ~ pick a day (even last minute), choose a movie, send some texts, and then add themed food from the movie (this is where I love to help!) + hot drink = a lovely, refreshing gathering.
In this Spring Edition of Bookish Movie Nights, I’ve included 3 movies for a Ladies’ Night In:
- Leap Year (2010) ~ A full course Irish-themed meal with Irish Pizza, Soup, Sandwich Bar, Dessert and Drink options. (Audience: teen girl and up)
- Letters To Juliet (2010) ~ A very simple Italian dinner and dessert menu to host friends no matter how busy you are. (Audience: teen girl and up)
- The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) ~ An Icelandic dessert menu to expand your culinary horizons. (Audience: All, but adults will “get it” the most)
