Description
A movie for this classic was released last year and it very much missed the mark and message. The book is absolutely worth reading even if you’ve seen the movie or even if you’ve read the book as a child. This story, although somewhat strange at times, illuminates themes of courage and the necessity of community and how we need each other for balance, wisdom and strength.
We recommend this book as a family read-aloud for boys or girls and it will be best understood by ages 11 or 12 and up.
