Description
A creative and playful retelling of the Cinderella story. At Ella’s birth, the fairy Lucinda gives her the “gift” of obedience. Through a series of adventures that find her visiting giants, being captured by ogres, rescuing gnomes, and becoming friends with a prince, Ella battles to break Lucinda’s curse and choose her own story.
The combination of a plucky and resourceful heroine and lots of twists and turns will keep readers turning pages to find out what happens next. It’s a great fit for girls in the range of 8-13, but with enough adventure to appeal to the whole family.
Also included: A Movie Night Menu for the movie Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway. The movie is very different from the book, but still very good and a perfect (and easy) gathering for tween girls.
